But be careful – it’s trickier than it looks! There are sweets hidden behind the label and tucked away at the back of the jar that you might not be able to spot!

Submit your guess below and you could WIN a £50 Ladysmith shopping voucher. If more than one person guesses correctly, a winner will be selected at random. If nobody guesses the exact number, the closest guess will win.

To enter, participants must complete and submit the entry form on the Sweet Spectacular competition page on the Ladysmith Shopping Centre website.
If one or more entrants correctly guess the exact number of sweets, all correct entries will be entered into a prize draw and one winner will be selected at random.
If no entrant correctly guesses the exact number, the entry (or entries) closest to the correct number will be entered into a prize draw, with one winner selected at random.

A Magical Christmas

Join us for a day full of festive fun on Saturday 20th December, from 11am - 3pm.

Two wonderfully cheeky elves will be landing directly in the heart of Ladysmith Shopping Centre, ready to meet and greet shoppers of all ages. Their mission is to spread festive excitement and make a memorable shopping experience for Ashton families as they complete their Christmas shopping.

When: Saturday 20th December 2025

Time: 11am – 3pm

Beyond the joy and the playful antics of the elves, we are also inviting children to take part in a hands-on Reindeer Food making workshop. This activity will add a touch of magic to your Christmas Eve, as you’ll be able to take the food home with you to leave out for Rudolph and his reindeer friends!

This Halloween, prepare for a day of spooky fun at Ladysmith Shopping Centre!

Join us for a Spooktacular Halloween event where you can get up close and personal with some creepy creatures.

When: Thursday 30th October 2025

Time: 10am – 3pm

Where: Ladysmith Shopping Centre, Ashton-Under-Lyne

It’s going to be a wild and unforgettable day, with everything from slithering snakes and leathery lizards to hairy tarantulas and tenrecs. You’ll have a hands-on encounter with these fascinating creatures and get to chat with expert handlers who will share some fun, freaky facts about each one.

What’s a Halloween event without a costume? Transform your face with our free face painting station!

All activities are free to participate in, however, we encourage you to make a donation to our charity of the year partner The Anthony Seddon Fund who will be in attendance throughout the event.

Suggested donation amount: £2 for a face painting, £1 for participating in the creepy crawly encounter.

We can’t wait to see you there for a ghoulishly good time!

This Summer, we are delighted to share that our centre will be hosting two Rainbow themed events each of which are designed to spread joy amongst the local community.

The events will take place from 11am – 3pm, details of the event can be found below!

Saturday 9th August 2025, 11am - 3pm

Throughout the day, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities. We’ve got something for everyone, whether you love getting crafty, chasing bubbles, or having your face painted!

Activities Include:

🌈 Create your own rainbow masterpiece with Rainbow Paper Crafts

🌈 Watch the bubbles float and sparkle during our Bubble Blowing Fun

🌈 Enjoy magical moments with our Rainbow Face Painter

Additionally, we invite you to take a seat and engage in one of our 3 story telling sessions.

Unleash your inner artist and add some serious sparkle to your day at Ladysmith! Join us for a rainbow themed badge workshop and let your creativity shine. You’ll get to design your very own custom badges using an array of different colours.

Once you’ve finished creating your own badge, add a little sparkle to your life with our glitter tattoo station! Our friendly team will be ready to apply shimmering glitter tattoos throughout the duration of the event.

The Rainbow Trail 🌈

Follow the colours of the rainbow hidden in our stores! Find each colour, jot down the store name on your trail sheet, and once you’ve completed the journey collect a delicious treat to take home!

Make sure you request your trail sheet from a member of the event staff.

The Ladysmith School Uniform Exchange returns!

This summer, we’re excited to announce that our school uniform exchange will be open for the second year running!

We’re delighted to be supporting Ashton families once again by providing you with the opportunity to shop pre-loved school uniforms.

We just ask that you consider making a donation to The Anthony Seddon Fund in return for any items you take.

When and Where you’ll Find Us

Our School Uniform Exchange Shop will be located opposite Greggs and will be open on:

Saturday 26th July, 10am – 4pm
Saturday 2nd August, 10am – 4pm.

This initiative is only possible thanks to the generosity of our local community. Last year we were inundated with so many donations that we have enough for this year! Announcing our Charity of the Year for 2025!

We’re absolutely delighted to announce that Ladysmith Shopping Centre has chosen the Anthony Seddon Fund as our Charity of the Year for 2025.

Over the next 12 months, you’ll start seeing them around the centre, helping with initiatives, sharing information, and raising funds to support mental health in our local community.

Why is the Anthony Seddon Fund Exceptional?

Formed in memory of Anthony Seddon, a beloved son and brother who battled bipolar disorder and sadly lost his life in 2013, the charity has, since June 2014, provided mental health support across Tameside. Anthony’s family couldn’t sit by and watch others suffer, and so, they made it their mission to help hundreds of people over the years who have battled with mental health or found themselves in challenging situations.

Based at their Ashton-under-Lyne centre, just a few minutes walk from Ladysmith Shopping Centre, they offer drop-in sessions every weekday. Whether you’re looking for peer support, creative activities, or just a friendly environment to talk, they have something for everyone who is struggling. They urge you to never struggle without reaching out.

Daily Drop-In Sessions

The Anthony Seddon Centre supports an incredible 200 people each week, a testament to its deeply rooted community impact.

Their Daily Drop-In is at the heart of The Anthony Seddon Fund. It’s a vital service that runs every single day of the week. Whether you’re looking for a friendly chat, advice, or just a safe space to be, their drop-in is open to everyone.

This service is open from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. It’s a no-appointment, walk-in service, designed to offer a welcoming environment where you can access mental health peer support and connect with others in the community.

Upcoming Events

17th July – 10am-11:30am – Family & Friends Support Group Support for families and carers of an adult living with mental health issues

24th July – 10am-11:30am – Bereavement Group A peer support group suitable for people who have suffered a bereavement

Every Tuesday – 10am-11:30am – Tea & Toast Club A peer support group, with toast and refreshments available – £1

We’ve got one thing on our mind…

We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves, but Ladysmith Shopping Centre is glowing in the sunshine, and we can’t help but think of hot holidays abroad, warm staycations in the UK, and dreamy days out with our family and friends.

We sauntered around the centre this week, and it was bursting with colour, fresh looks, and inspiration to get us excited for the summer months.

We love these fresh minty green pumps from Meeks Shoes. Comfortable, soft, and the perfect pastel shade to complement your linen trousers or denim shorts.

Rieker is a brand that was founded in the Black Forest region of Southern Germany in 1874. They originally produced shoes for the affluent citizens of Northern Italy and the company soon gained a reputation for quality. We are thrilled to be able to offer such a great brand at Ladysmith.
